“Oh, girl, you stand by me. I’m forever yours. Faithfully.”
– Jonathan Cain (keyboardist of Journey)
Got no reason to believe
our ten year’s journey
together in love – a road filled
with amazing heights,
awkward twists,
unexpected detours –
won’t improve.
If not straighten.
You and I love the nature trails,
hidden wonders discover,
surprised by bird song
and joy’s flowers!

5-4-3-2-1 !!!! Happy 5th anniversary D’verse!
In Quadrille stye, in 44 words exactly, write a poem or prose, with the word JOURNEY.
Part 1, Catching Up with Brian Miller
The photo and title are beautiful, Charley! and how clever to use a Journey song lyric 🙂 The best of this Journey poem is in the closing stanza – the surprises of bird song and flowers on a tough path; beautifully done!

Thank you, Jilly! It — like your poem — was simply me writing from the outflow of time spent traveling with a woman who makes loving easy… no matter what.

And not nearly enough, but I’m out of practice writing. Thank you!

Its enough. You don’t have to be profusive, just sincere and this is sincere.

Oh, we’ve faced lions and tigers and bears, too! Possibly a cat who leaves a smile behind… I really don’t remember it all clearly. Just my partner who remains steady. Glad you enjoyed it, Walter!

Tell me you consider yourself a “lost boy” and I’d think we’re twins separated at birth! I enjoy writing (and reading) about Oz, Wonderland and Neverland! I believe!

Been in the lost and found a few times. I’ve also ridden a raft or two, and hiked the Highlands with an errant Stewart. That’s why I ended up teaching English.

What a beautiful declaration of love – made me quite weepy (I never knew I was sentimental like that). I especially like the unexpected detours – ain’t that just life?

It most certainly is. I’m happy my poem touched you!

Wonderful! And I’m wondering….perhaps the journey with one’s life partner should seek out the crooked, more interesting roads….maybe the straightened ones aren’t quite as fun? 🙂

We’ve always had a penchant for trying the unknown paths. And that’s made all the difference in the world!

The ten have passed too quickly for any bloom to fade. Thank you, Bjorn for that blessing!

And yet it hardly does it justice. Our relationship is a great part of my ability to write — I live with my muse! I’m glad you enjoyed it.

A lovely depiction of a marriage, with all its challenges and joys. And by marriage I mean any long term committed relationship…

The unexpected paths, twists and turns …they keep the journey alive and moving. My husband and I will be celebrating our 10th anniversary next year. I really do look at it as an accomplishment. Marriage is work, but love can do most of it, if you let it.
Beautiful quadrille to share.

We work to love, love motivates us to strive (work at love). A perpetual emotion machine. Thank you!

Well, I have had help. Mostly I credit my wife. She’s the music, the spice, and the poetry in our marriage… I just play harmony mostly. But thank you!
