My Autumn Self — a Poem

falling-leaves_1024

Descriptionari

I am an autumn leaf in freefall.

My swing is suspended
from a nexus

here
now…

                      here
now…

but
again

here

as I descend.

Unanchored
by winds that gust,

uncurl

before the rush.

Unhinged
from the now – riding
a madcap playground.

Will you pick me
up from where I land;
treasure what I’ve become….

or crush me
underfoot on your way
to tomorrow?
