This is day 20 of Days of Unreason:

“Words are moving water, muddy, clear, or both.” – Jim Harrison

Facebook bots create
a language that floats
untested, untranslat-
able a threat says
news sources, Charlie
Zero are you listening?

Scientists are editing
human embryo DNA;
let that thought roll
around in your brain
like a marble you lost
a long time ago shoot-
ing during school recess.

Alpine hikers coming
out of the ice bring
reporters to euphor-
ia because at least it’s
a body.  But still no sign
of Jimmy.  Don’t rule
out Switzerland, ok?

A blues singer spells
“main” m-a-n.  Life
just gets weirder….

A little over a year ago, I joined Jillys2016 in a challenge called “28 Days of Unreason.”  She culled quotes from the poems of Jim Harrison in a book called Songs of Unreason.  We used the quotes as prompts; diving boards suspended over the abyss of poetry.  Jill is revisiting unreason, and I am skipping gleefully along.  Come and join the fun!

A tip of the hat to Charlie Zero The Poet!

  1. Love the question for our WP friend, Charlie Zero – perfect! (Hope he sees this.) The picture you found is spooky, like several of these stories. I really like the metaphor about the marble – hits the target right in the middle! Of course, you get extra points from the Blues Cafe for the Muddy line 😉 [Bit of trivia – I had a relative who worked for Jimmy.]

  2. By far the best poetic writing I have read here on WordPress today.

    Man, I can’t believe I missed your writing. This opens up such incredible imagery. You’ve unlocked the strangeness of poetry and I’m glad I got to inspire you on this. 🙂 Thank you so much my friend for you writing this about me. 🙂 You make the world a better place. 🙂
