we don’t freeze while we live

This is day 18 of Days of Unreason:

“We were born to be moving water not ice.” – Jim Harrison

Molecules.  It all boils

down to our deepen-

ing innards.  We look

at ourselves and see

that we are melt-

ed ice; more we are

water slowly return-

ing to a form like

ice –

A little over a year ago, I joined Jillys2016 in a challenge called “28 Days of Unreason.”  She culled quotes from the poems of Jim Harrison in a book called Songs of Unreason.  We used the quotes as prompts; diving boards suspended over the abyss of poetry.  Jill is revisiting unreason, and I am skipping gleefully along.  Come and join the fun!

  1. So we turn in a rotation between a liquid and flowing relationship to the world, and solidifying and strengthening. And we are both/and not either/or, except sometimes. We boil over from time to time, but then cool it.
