Locked in a dungeon built sound, dank,
deep the poison of thought I drew.
A heady brew as any rascal drank
has tainted true workers, a good many few.
Ah, but what wond’rous visions to me revealed.
I imbibed creativity; my future is sealed.
It’s Quadrille night at dVerse Poets Pub, and our tender, Victoria, has asked us to belly up with an offering that is sound in one way or another. …just for the fun of it, see below.
How very Poe-esque! You create a marvelously dark feel with only 44 words. (The video, of course, is one of the all-time greats! Thanks for adding it in 🙂 )

You’ve drunk the wine of creativity, and tonight are in it’s dungeon. A great metaphor. Who knows where the wine will take us tomorrow?

I had to go back and reread the poem after watching the video (it made my day) LOL. For me, the poem read as a very strong metaphor–locked as we are sometimes in this creative dungeon. Great use of the prompt, Charley.

I liked the sound of dank, deep dungeon. I also liked the unexpected comparison of poison of thought and imbibed creativity.
